Maybe - there was also talk of only TX equipped aircraft flying during the trials for world cup airspace closures. At the end of the day we flew every day and everytime they asked transponder we just said no transponder.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Think the mandatory TX was only if you flew inside the xyznm resticted area of the stadium and not the wider net. Not sure, but I did hear a couple oukes get into K@K for not ahving transponders and taking off from FATP, Syfers and Pano's....
