My aerie now got big lump on the nose. Niel, from Kroonstad will make the belt-drive system. Me and the 2 lads picked the engine up from the floor, and hung the engine. This lump is very light. So far, so good. Exhaust manifold welded together. Altenator fitted. The wiring........    (**) (**) (**) (**) (**) (**) (**) (**) oooooooooo @ok (**)

Ja Ja most of the motor manufacturers have become part swappers... Have absolutely no clue of the mechanics or electronics of the vehicle if they don't have the manufacturer specific Diagnostic Systems to tell change this sensor or refill the aircon gas! (**)

Interesting to note that Peter Funk had to contact Daimler when using the Smart Diesel variant in his green project and they were quite accommodating. If I am not mistaken the development team of Bosch assisted them with the black boxes etc. That complete conversion was in the region of 10 to 15 thousand Euros! Would have worked quite well if the exchange rate had remained where it was back then!

You go Boet....

And REAL mechanics are getting scarcer by the day. Became more like "fitters" : Remove old part and fit new one. When I learned this trade, it was maak n plan dat die kar kan loop!!
