Seen at Rhino park

Postby Low Level » Mon Aug 31, 2009 5:08 pm

Rhino is quite famous for it's fog in the morning, and Saturday was no exception. Lots of guys standing around waiting to get in the air. Once in the air, I heard someone calling from Kitty Hawk - wants to take off - on the radio if it was clear to come and land at Rhino park. Although Rhino is only 4 miles from Kitty Hawk, it lies in a small valley next to a koppie - and the fog loves it.

30 minutes after sunrise and Rudix seriously wants to take off to go to Betlehem. At that stage he has checked his camera about 27 times.

The fog broke eventually to be safe for take-off. Boy, what a sight. (-)

Unfortunately my headset went on the blink, so the flight was shortlived. Back on the ground there was some serious training on at the park.

The pictures loose too much resolution on the forum, therefore lost the plot on the first post.

Glen, I got this  . Why don't you tell CAA you intend flying from Middelburg from now on. Fly RWW to Middelburg on Thursday, which is then in your proving flight range limit , hangar one night with JFK, then to Barberton on Friday, which is again within your proving flight range limit, back to Middelburg on Sunday. Monday you tell CAA you don't like it in Middelburg, you're moving back to Pretoria.

VOILA. (^^)

Regarding the registration of an airplane, can I choose my own registration number?

Hi THI,
You can register your own choice. It costs you R2000 more.
There are howevere some limitations. For instance I wanted my new plane to be registered WWW, but ICAO standards now dictate no three letters the same.
As it is a gyro it has to start with R (standing for Rotorcraft)
