Good idea. Do you think it will work with my Bank Manager as well .

Are you guys intending to buy the Savanna or the Oribi? The price puts it in the catagory as the X-Air and the Hawk (two other kit planes I am looking at) for an whole lot more plane. Gives the option to upgrade when you have the cash and, I suspect, will hold its price a lot better in the long term as well. Any comments?

The Savannah and Oribi kits are absolutley IDENTICAL......the name designation is only used to differentiate that the plane fitted with a 912 motor is called the "Savannah" and all the other motor fitments called the "Oribi"....

As far as additional fitments are concerned (Avionics, etc...etc...) you can fit the kit basics to get flying and upgrade later with EFIS, etc...etc... as the budget/finance minister allows....

You are right...a whole lot of aeroplane for a very good price......
If in doubt, come down to the factory and test fly one - see the kit and flying examples...It's almost too good to be true

Bank managers are driven by business plans...Illustrate the appreciation in value over time versus motor vehicle financing.....

With regard to the minister of finance.....purely emotion here.... ...a good deal of pampering, a moonlit dinner...surprise jewelery and flowers should do the trick......(Unless she thinks that you are asking repentance for having an affair and beats you up anyway.... )

Flew up to Grahamstown this last weekend to check out what Fawg Dog was raving about.

I found Fawgies report above to be extremely misleading.

He mentioned short take off and landing. The Savannah may as well be a bloody helicopter! Thought John had lost his marbles when he gave power and almost immediately pulled stick back and within what looked like 20 metres of rolling, we had established a comfortable climb rate. (When others went for their demo flight afterwards - I kept on saying to myself - that take off does not look right - the distance to being airborne is ridiculous)

The stall - what stall? If John had not pointed out the 500 ft descent rate, I don't think I would have noticed we were in a stall. Real docile, and apparently not able to enter a spin.

This aerie also turns on half a tickey. I think a trike would even struggle to compete with the maneuvrability of this craft. Even at low speeds it handles extremely well.

Many of the craft at this level suffer from adverse yaw. This aircaft is not one of them.

Pricing is really shocking. One would assume a craft at this level to be more expensive.

If you are looking for a 3 axis aircraft in the microlight category, this one will leave a real good impression on you and not as big an impression on your bank account.

Garth and Rugene of Flightline Weekly did a nice photo shoot of some of the Savannah's flying from kroon. I think Kroon has the most Savannah's on one airfield in South Africa, or proof me wrong:
