Ek is verbaas om te hoor die wild coast trip is tans aan die gang.Daar was nie geadverteer nie ,
so kan ons aanneem dat die trip net vir sekere mense bedoel is.

Re: WILDCOAST TRIP
Mmm...
The 2009 Wild Coast trip was fantastic in all respects except for one. This year business commitments had me working (see the launch of www.webo.co.za) and so I missed my first trip since I founded the annual sardine migration trip to the Wild Coast which I host at my holiday shack "Ozone" in the Cwebe Reserve. Each year those that have been before vote on the final dates. Beds are reserved on the basis of payment to cover food and beverage costs (R150 per day) on a first come first served basis. All catering is done by my staff and by my family. This year the catering was managed by my sister Wendy. I arrange with friends to borrow cottages next to mine so that we have enough beds. This year I borrowed two extra cottages and had a marquee delivered just in case. Close to 50 people attended over a two week period. Some went a week early some left late. Nothing but wind free conditions and crystal seas endured with birds diving sardine shoals and seafood aplenty. No person has ever been turned away but, you are right, I do not advertise. I do however put the word out and run a website on wild coast adventures etc that receives some 50,000 hits a month. My apologies if you were left out or felt that you were not invited. We go every year and in fact I try to go about 3 to 4 times a year. A number of people join me at other times and some even (sob) go without me!
I hope that this explains that we are:
- not a secret society however
- we are also not a commercial enterprise
maybe some of the regulars may offer some comment

Re: WILDCOAST TRIP
I concur with Alan, every year many emails go out to all those who would possibly be interested or know of people who would be interested and are asked to spread the word. As usual everybody wants to go until its time to commit and pay
Its impossible to send out emails to every single flyer. Well ive been 2 years in a row now and its a trip never to be missed. Not only is it a flyers paradise but its adventurous and the food and atmosphere is awesome. Space is a problem hence first come first serve. But its no secret socitey etc so if you interested for next year then let Alan know.

Folks.
This was my fith concecutive year I have attended. Believe me, there will be many more for me if Alan and Donald can put up with this old codger. This year I was not able to fly,for various reasons, so drove. but next year I wll be there in my brand new savannah VG.
I would like to give a big thank you to Wendy, for all the work she did to see we were all happy, and fed. "And to you too Donald."
Cheers,
Vernon.

Hi Alan
I received my licence on the 13th and flew to Ozone with the Grahamstown gaggle on the 16th. What a way to build up 14 hours of incredible flying. Alan, I didn't get the chance meet you, but Donald and your sister Wendy entertained and fed us like royalty. The wonderful people I met are a testament to the sort of fly in that Ozone is.
Thank you and I look forward to doing it again.

Re: WILDCOAST TRIP
My second trip, enjoyed it so much I stayed until I was thrown out when everyone else went home
Donald and Wendy were once again wonderful hosts and we wanted for nothing, even providing some perfect flying weather. Unfortunately I have missed Alan on both occasions, but I have bewen told to be scared, very scared when he is there, he apparently has no off button
Looking forward to the next one - only another 351 sleeps
