Hi
Does anyone know the cost of a “c” grade instructors rating?
And what is the difference between a “c grade" and a "grade III" Instructors rating?
Kind regards

Re: Instructors rating
'Cost' of an instructors rating is hard to calculate. You have to do at least 200 hours - then do x hours of patter training iwth an 'A' grade instructor - then do the exams etc. So it will depend on the cost of aircraft hire and patter instruction cost.
Have you got your own airplane to fly the 200 hours.

Hi Stephan
I Unfortunately don’t have my own plane.
Hire & Fly is the only option.
Must the 200 hours required be PIC?

Total hours I think (good question actually - will research)
have a look at the spreadsheet I posted on this post - it gives the hours breakdown. for instrutors on the one tab.

Correct, the 200hr's are total time if I am not mistaken. If You have a PPL you will only need 100hr's on microlights or LSA( Not sure if this has changed). Instructors rating will cost anything from 12k-20k the last time I checked. Call Geoff Dyer at Light Flight in Cato or Brian Young at pyrimid in Barberton.

Re: Instructors rating
Yes ratings in NPL is class A, B,C instructors. You need 100 hours on the type you will be training on - so either LSA, CCM or WSM and 200 hours total.
'Patter' is where an instructor teaches you to become an instructor. So basically you sit right seat and he becomes a student - that does stupid things - you have to talk him basically though flying lessons so that he can see that you can instruct and without killing yourself and a student.
