I have Purchased a 912.s, The tecnam is a wright off but the nose section including the motor is fine, what should i look for in the motor ( Regarding Damage ), I am in namibia and it is rather far for me to send the motor to SA,
Any Advise Would be Appreciated

I will Remove the Dash and all the Instruments next weekend and then i will let you know! I have a Rotax Skydat For sale if you are looking for engine Instruments

yes this motor will go into my CT and the old 912 extra wich has just gone for a overhaul and conversion ( The extra means 100 hp Conversion) will be sold.

If an engine has been involved in an accident and you do not PERSONALLY
know that the prop never struck anything, then you need to get a crank and
prop shaft runout test. Quite simple but if you aren't going to do this
yourself - any Rotax mechanic can do it for you. This simply checks
the runout of both the prop shaft and crankshaft (must remove gearbox) to
see if they were bent (using a typical runout dial indicator). The specs
are published in the Rotax manual. See if the seller will let you have this
done before purchase.

In theory - if the prop drive flange is running straight then you shouldn't have a problem either way.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.
