My oldest, an 87 year old who when got back to the old age home, told all her friends that she ha been flying a "microwave"...they thought that the 'ol duck must have had far too much sun, so phoned the family, only to be told that it was a microlight, not a microwave....

My youngest pax was my son at 3 (He is now 6).....We had a specially made belt with tons of Velcro (spelling) which in addition to the trikes usual belt had him strapped down from every possible angle....I used the same belt for many kids after that.....

I could never convince myself to take-off with my son before he was 5. Did taxi around with him strapped in the back. He used to complain to his mother that we were only "driving" and not flying. vhpy

Took my father, 71 , for a flip over the farm he has been living on for 70 years and has never seen it from the air.

The story of Bomb I found interesting!
My grandfather was a tank commander in the 2nd World War and is still around (He is 86). Anyway, I've always wanted to ask him about the war, but he refuses to talk to me or my cousins about it. I have since stopped asking as I don't want to drag up the memories!
I would be nervous to take kids under about 4 due to the fact that if they have a problem, they can't communicate it to you. Loose seat belt etc.
I often tease my Gran (79) about coming with me if she's still alive when I get my MPL, and she refuses!! vhpy
This is an interesting topic, keep it up!
Cheers

I don't like taking kids under 10.

Just my paranoia, I don't have any of my own. Kids of VERY close friends I will go as low as 6. Any younger than that I will just taxie up and down the runway.

My youngest PAX was also my little girl at 3.
The oldest was my wife's grandma at the age of 91. She told us she was so exited the evening before that she couldn't sleep. She enjoyed it very much. We even made a video of the event. Isn't it amazing what a little question like "Would like to go fly with me ?" do to another person.
By the way, ouma is going on 93 now and still drives he own car. She once said in her defense, that the other oncoming traffic does have brakes and made a U turn......

Fly safe and watch out for ouma when driving to the airfield.

The oldest passenger I know of in our area (Knysna) is 90 and goes for a flip every now and then in a Whisper, thanks to a very kind pilot. The photo was taken a year earlier in Roger's Cubby. Roger still said his passenger, Peter still had a good feel for the controls. He was a 2nd WW bomber pilot, ending up as a Squadron commander and instructing on jets such as Vampires. Visited him yesterday and will be arranging another flight in a week or so.

Lets bring this one back ## ##

My oldest PAX was my Granny of 82  I have been promising her a flip for the last 2 years (**)

Sunday afternoon was perfect as its a little cold for "old bones" in the mornings

So I normaly take off first and "test" the air before taking a PAX up and the air was smooth so I did a couple of steep turns over the runway and landed to pick granny up.

Once in the air I said " we are going to do some turns now"   I got a big "NO" from the back (**) (**)

Granny must have thought that we will be doing the same turns as what i just did and after a lot of ($$) ($$) and explaining I said " no man gran eventually we must turn to get back" and we agreed that it will be small turns (-)

Needless to say she LOVED it ## ## ##
