EGT Sensors

Postby Cloud Warrior » Wed Jun 17, 2009 2:19 am

I would like to know whether anybody who has a Skydat GX2 on there trike has fitted different K-type thermocouples to their exhausts instead of the ones from Skydat? The probes that come with the Skydat are a pain in the butt to replace because you cannot screw them into or out of the the exhaust without undoing the whole cable with it - which Solowings installs very neatly along one of the cooling hoses with cable ties - which you have to then cut and replace every time! There are other probes out there that do allow you to do this with the same dimensions and thread to fit Rotax exhausts but I was wondering if the Skydat probes had been specially calibrated or something?

Thanks

Nope...they're exactly the same. You can replace them with the other ones if you wish.
Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two

There are basically 2 standards of probes - they are k-type and J-type. If you replace it with the same type it will be fine 'cos they are all calibrated the same.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.
