We have been fiddling with various composite props here in Oz as the Arplast Props from France are way expensive. Not sure of costs locally but here goes...
We tried Les Bolly's composite props (3 blade) retail for around $1500 incl. alloy hub (R7500). The blades are balanced to within 1gram and serialed etc. We found that they perform well and offer good value. The props are moulded carbon fibre with polystyrene inner fill. including a light alloy hub. website:

The ultimate we have found (and this arrived with the DTA) was the DUC "windspoon" prop. This prop is manufactured from solid carbon fibre layered and mounted onto a carbon fibre hub. Man these are tough and chew small rocks without significant damage. I also like the faired stealth tips and yes they reduce blade noise significantly. Price seems similar to the above. website:

We also have some cricket bats lashed to a hub, but I will not elaborate on that product...
Hope this helps...

It must the effects of that thick white stuff that descends when it rolls over the mountain. Any white gaseous substance that is heavier than air might be good for getting a party started, but must have serious side-effects.Seriously big birds in Cape Town at 20m in length?

preferred choice
Try a 4 blade warp or a 3 blade neuform for best torque and performance. I've got a 4 blade warp lying around - make me an offer.
