It's a numbers game. With 2747 members it's peanuts if you get the 'buy in' from all. Unfortunately that won't happen.
Browsing through 2007 posts there's hardly activity from old members. We need to keep it from getting stagnant. Much as I enjoy the chirps,we can only debate oil a few times.

Besides the For Sale section, bar one or two, there's little activity. For us who fly alone or in the sticks, post your adventures and punt the stop-overs with alernatives with details. After some support, they might consider supporting.

For the suppliers, exploit the dedicated section with new product launches, upgrades and advertising and a link to a dedicated web page. For every new Gyro or Cheeta upgrade, there's interest from a triker. Why dedicated invites to a launch? flaunt it to the masses.

The flying clubs / airfields can also mention activities e.t.c. Maybe an ex triker will join them or a newbe for an intro flip. If there's someone there on the Sat, some might join for a coffee or if the fire's going, bring a wors to grill and a thermos flask.

Thanks guys! It will help a lot!

The balance in the Bank is now R1997.74

@ Skybound - I calculated the bandwidth usage at half - forgot local ISP's charge for in and out bandwidth! The DNS is still at the ZA host - they will not release the domain until I pay up ;)

Attached you will find a statement from the invoices I have raised and drawn money for. The supplier ledger is my cost from the ISP (no markup added)

The supplier account is also attached - I raise the invoice to TMF001 when there is actually enough money to draw. So the supplier account is the total cost of the site in ZA for a year.

The invoices are mailed to Demon, Tailpipe, Morph and Myself (admin@microlighters.co.za) and Tailspin makes the transfer if no-one has any objections.

DH, I will do a once off deposit as I did last year. Hope it helps to keep Microlighters going.
Pity the costs were allowed to run away, but hope that Microlighters will still be around in a year's time.
I do believe that I asked this a while ago, but is there no way to bill (as per sms) every "post" (or "view" for that matter) at R 1.00 ?

Just another Techno Retard question ?

Interesting suggestion kloot but I see not why we should be charged to view.

Really no need for us to pay per view.

The level of commitment we have received until now is exemplary and I thank all contributors.

I am running the site as a company now and inflows will start to contribute to community events once the debt is settled.

Some very interesting opportunities have opened up for us in the past few weeks and members could potentially prosper from these happenings - watch the press for details.

I have donated R100 out of my own pocket. (It should have come through by now.)
I am going to try and donate again next month.
Good luck

Wow - we have just received a very generous donation from one of our members who prefers to remain anonymous.

They deposited R10,000 into the fund with the following breakdown
* R7,600 Donation as a once off to assist with previous costs or new
* R2,400 for 2 years subs @ R100/month, paid up front
* After May 2011, if still required, R100/month

Thanks a LOT - this will fasttrack the recovery a lot.

Thanks also to everyone else who has contributed or intend to contribute later. The efforts are appreciated and it keeps the wolves at bay!

The current bank balance is R15,397.04
