Aircraft type Discussions

Postby Morph » Mon May 25, 2009 9:53 am

We are looking at launching a forum for Aircraft type discussions similar to Avcom. The plan is to set up sub forums for each type, so that the manufacturers/agents can keep all their product information together, plus the owners/fans can post pics etc of their favorite aerie.

Considering our dear friend Dark Helmet, who is up to the nostrils in debt for hosting microlighters locally (see viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10636 ) we are looking at a nominal fee per manufacturer/agent to have a dedicated subforum. I am looking at about R100 per month, to help go towards relieving the debt. Once that is sorted, then the costs can be adjusted down to the then current running costs of the forum or completely done away with. We are prepared to publish the account movements for all to see if need be

What do you think about this?, you can respond in this thread or pm/email me

I think its a good idea.
Would this include people like AirMagic (ZULU1/Paul) and so on?

Morph, I think this is a brilliant idea. It can almost be a 'shop window' for each make of craft and I think R100 pm as an advertising vehicle would work well for distributors/manufacturers. Will make browsing for choices much easier and more concise, and all information can be categorized. Plus assist the coffers.

Many of the manufacturers (Like Zulu1) are already contributing and I think this a good idea to give back for their contributions.

If you are a contributor and want a private space of your own speak to the morphman - I a bit bogged to get involved in this one.

A mail to adminATmicrolightersDcoDza and it can be set up

I started the ball rolling with the Bushbaby forum here

viewforum.php?f=29

The idea is for the Agent/Manufacturer or a Sponsor, if the first two are not available, to pay R100 a month towards running the forum and I will open a sub forum for you. If you stop paying the forum get's locked allowing viewing only but no posting

If you want me to set one up for your specific aerie speak to me, pay your money and it's done
