Morph, I do like the 'set up' in the last diagram. Separate fuel supply systems can't do any harm. Think of blockages, dirt or pump failure. Besides empty tank, Any idea how often 'engine outs' are as a result of fuel supply ?

Your biggest single common 'mechanical' problem is fuel related. This can be fuel mismanagement, i.e. insufficient fuel, or incorrect mix, or a mechanical breakdown, usually blocked filters, split pipes, fuel pumps faulty etc. Then there is pilot error, bad weather and finally structural failure.

There is nothing wrong with a completely parallel system, it is just complex and more pipes to check etc.

I struggled to get hold of a non return valve. So I closed the second pickup and installed the Facet in series.

She sounds great.

It looks like the pickups come from the two different sides of the tanks, there might be a hump in the middle ala the drawing. If that is the case t-piece the two side together before going to the filters and pumps

It looks like you are picking up from the right side then and blockingthe left. What if you are turning left with a nearly empty tank, won't you suck air?

Just bought a T piece. Will take both pickups into the T piece and out to the facet on the 3rd connection. Through to the filter, then to the mechanical pulse pump and into the carbs. Better idea?

Will remove the filters before the facet. Makes things to complicated having 3 fuel filters in the circuit as well.

Does this sound like a better idea?

Eish, why Im struggling so much with this ting ##

This looks like a Cobra tank? You are correct, "join" the two pick-ups with a 3-way "T" piece before connecting to the facet pump. Then you are sucking fuel from both sides of the tank at all times and not from one side only!

So you guys reccomend fitting a line on each side of the tank if it has a hump? (Like most trikes do)
Like the drawing below?
How do you install the pick-ups?
Thanks,
Ross

Nacho,
In your pics it looks like you installed teh pump before the filter. Is this right? :?
Could you please post some pics of your new installation for us?
Morph: What PSI pumop should you have for a 912 engine?
Thanks
Ross
