Now that winter is on its way (all most), what kind of gloves can I use to prevent frosty fingers while flying?

I have a nice pair from the Outdoor warehouse,they just make frequency changes tricky. otherwise we have a pair of mitts on the trike, made by Solo wings, they work well too, nice warm fingers

( the only other problem is keeping the feet warm )

I wear Mares diving boots, whenever I fly. They are comfortable, great feeling on the throttle and they are warm, have never had a problem with feet being cold.

The gloves that your refer to from Outdoor Warehouse, are they the normal leather gloves?

Also got a pair from Outdoor Warehouse. Works very well. R100.00. The make is called 360deg. windproof outer and warm , removable inner. Come in different "weights" depending on the amount of insulation required. Look at my avatar. It is the grey glove in the pic.

They are not leather, they are the same as the ones in Paul's avatar, really good.

For the feet, a pair of running socks under some hiking socks and a pair of skater takkies, they work pretty well

I have found the mitts on the bar to be the best. no interferance when having to change frequency. I used to use ski gloves which were not so bad. Mitts are for me the best, but then I fly at the coast. Not so cold here.

African Grey has a set of gloves that have cut off fingers for when you need to work with the radio and a mitt section that pulls over the fingers when you are flying. I couldn't find a pair anywhere. They are perfect. What I eventually did was cut 3/4 of the way through the right index finger of my gloves just above the first knuckle, so when you need to push buttons you can expose your finger. When your finger is covered and you are holding the bar your whole hand is protected again.

My softness bought two leather gholf gloves that she uses in our open cockpit and it really works well, warm and nice tight fit to work radio buttons. You can also try cycling shops for their winter gloves. I have a pair, nice and warm, but unfortunately mine one size too big. Winter cycling tip for cold feet that also works for flying, put small plastic sandwich bags over your socks before putting on your shoes.
