Postby Stephan van Tonder » Tue Mar 10, 2009 10:13 pm

Hi guys - if you are a cheetah owner or interested - there is now a cheetah forum on avcom :-)
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Cheetah owners/flyers

If you are not on Avcom please do register, so that you can contribute your experience to the forum. Already there have been some useful exchanges. I am not punting one forum over the other; it's just that Avcom had the facility for opening a section for Cheetah flyers specifically.

I'll speak to the other Admins, we can do the same here. Let's see what Demon, DH and Tailspin say

I am very anti too many forums, but that is just me - if there is specific demand go for it, but then the Aquilla guys will want a forum and the GT450 okes and the Bushbaby's and the list goes on... informational things should go on the wiki

I also feel specific forums are a bit eletist that is why I pointed the guys to that one instead of requesting one here. Thought we could use the fact that it was there already.

Tend to dilute the forum. There is a thread for the Cubby owners, Savannah owners, Bushbaby etc. - even for Gert.

That's cool. Keep them alive.

Just my 2c.

I feel the same as DH.
If you make for one then eventually it will start a bun fight about why do "they" have a specific link and we do not.
Sorry gets a no vote from me. ^^.^

Remember, I am a newbie here. (So far I haven't been k@kked out, not even once, and I am liking it here!) But I am quite happy jumping between this forum and Avcom, and look at the response to the Cheetah thread so far. Sure, it may all die down once the novelty wears off, but it means that non-Cheetah owners don't have to waste time opening threads that look promising but then have nothing for them.

I know that I have quite a few issues relating to the Cheetah where I need help (e.g. weight and balance, where nothing is said in the manual that helps in any way), but these will come later, once I get started on the type conversion and the further flying. At least in a dedicated forum, non-Cheetah owners will usually stay away and be able to be more economical with their time.

Ditto with tailspin, If you have a cheetah problem post a general thread with Cheetah in the subject, i read mostly everything that is posted as I am interested in other types of aeries, their do's and don'ts etc.
