I am sure I am only one of a large number of people sad to get the news about Aiden and who remember him as a friendly helpful fellow always ready to discuss a problem and give you the benefit of his knowledge.
To have achieved aircraft sales of probably over 1500 with the exemplary safety record that his products had in South Africa is no mean achievement. Without wanting to detract from other local manufacturers who all produce fine products, I don't think any can match Aiden's tenacity to achieve the goals he did.
For this reason I would like to propose that an Aero Club special award for service to South Africa aviation and aviators be given to Aiden for giving so many people the time of their lives in being able to don wings and soar with the Eagles in a way that no other forms of aviation do.

Re: Award for Aiden
I'll back that as well: 200%
This is a great Idea, as I thought about it last night, I thought that doing something like this could be good!
RIP Aiden

A brilliant idea. You have my backing all the way. Not to mention that his products have flown around the world as well. RIP Aiden.

Re: Award for Aiden
Skimmer, the replies are saying it all.
Get a letter over to them.
Get a CV from Lynn / Solo Wings and get it going.
I would love to know what other aviation company in SA has built/sent so many aircraft into the air, as has Aiden ?
Skimmer, nominate the trohy, I will second it.
