I think the deal is being signed as I write. I am out of town, but the outlaw is handling things. Once done, I will have to arrange insurance before she leaves the hangar. I phoned my broker, but he hasn't got back to me yet.

You are right; this "om die dam" venture has taken a lot of time and effort, but things finally appear to be about to gel. Of course I will then need to convert to the a/c and learn all over again how to use rudders. I can't wait.

This microlight thing is really addictive. I find it a lot more fun than flying the bliks (or shall we say more conventional blik types) I am doing my training with Fred Blockland out at Springs on the Savannah (a very light blik) and I am enjoying every second of it.

But thinking of it, you can always fly it down to Margate (5 hours compared to the quick jump over the berg with the Mooney) and really have fun when you are down there. I think that is one of the advantages of going light... One can have fun with it while on holiday, unlike the "more expensive" option of firing up the Mooney for a quick flip once in a while down there you can actually fly every day the sun shines and the skyes are clear.

Only thing is you would want to have a place to store, but then there is always guys lik Evan who can help out if you give them a shout early enough.

You are going the same route that my brother in law Dave (partnerin the Cheetah) went. He also did his conversion to three-axis flying in the Savannah with Fred. He found the aerie very sensitive on the rudders.

I hope that the time will come when we may be able to take you up on your offer. I am quite keen to try the longer flights as well as some "om die dam" work. But it will have to be some time when my wife won't be coming as well. She battles with flying, even in the Mooney.
