need some advice

Good day Guys

I am totally new to Gyros. I am planning to do my training , but not sure where ill get the best training from ,i am from pretoria so i am thinking of rhino park ?
the reason why i decided on getting my gyro lic is because i want to use it in Angola to access certain sites ,instead of driving for hours on unsafe roads ex
and whats the best/strongest gyro i can get ? it should be a 2 seater
your comments will be much appreciated

The best Gyro for your conditions would be a ELA 07/ 08 /Magni M 16 /M 22 with 33 foot rotors and hydraulic prerotator form Wagtail.

These gyros have been used in commercial operations and should be able to meet your needs.

I fly an ELA 08 and is very happy with the machine. I have also owned a Magni M 16.

Prerotator

The prerotator on both machines are driven by a belt and require maintenance and belt replacements. You also need to replace the pulley on the standard Magni when replacing the belts.

The Magni has a bendix from the belt to the rotor head that also requires maintenance. Rain can also have and effect on the bendix.

The ELA prerotator is shaft driven with a geabox in between that can also fail.

The last thing that you need in Angola is that the prerotator has stopped working and you have a short runway with obstacles to take off from.

Hydraulic will last forever

33 foot Rotors

The 33 foot rotors will slow you down but it will smooth the ride and if I was so privilege to fly to work on a daily basis I would have opted for the longer rotors

What an experience flying in Angola to work and back !!!!!

Hi Rookie

Welcome to the best kept secret in Aviation.

In my opinion all the major brands are equally suited for your application.

The best advice is to get a couple of hours training and then go for demo flips in the various types (Then you can sit in the front seat and fly yourself under the guidance of an instructor)

For training in our area, contact Johan Meyer. He flies from Kitty Hawk and will train you on a Magni M16.

Mathew Zalewski and Johnny de Jager are instructors with 303 Squadron and operate from Brakpan airfield. They have a MT-03 (? could be a MT-OS) in their school available.

Hey Guys thanks for the advice. ill keep you up to date on my procress.

What does these machines cost ? do you buy them in kit form or ready built? and how long will i wait untill i get my order ? Have anyone flown the calidus09 / mtsport from autogyro?

i just want to get an idea for how much i should budget for.
