MPL Renewal - forms and req.
MPL Renewal - forms and req.
My MPL expires on valentines day ( what a lovely present from CAA) and I obviously need to renew it.
does anyone have a clue as to which form to use? I have been onto the CAA site, and can only find the form for application of a MPL, and not a renewal form.
Secondly, I believe that I do not need to do a flight test as I have flown enough hours in the past year / 2 years, whatever the ruling. can anyone clarify this. maybe if someone has done it recently, if you could post what was required etc etc. thanks in advance.

I had a bit of confusion in that i had started my 3Axis conversion and all they saw was the 7.5 hours on 3 axis and not the trike hours, after much explaining and showing them the correct hours that is what the lady said. As long as you have a valid medical etc and you have at least 3 hours as PIC Solo on type they accept and renew your license. I did a check ride and all that you said morph cos i thought i did not have enough hours but that is what the lady said.
I was kinda surprised and i allways thought it was about 10 hours that is why i stuck in my nut like that. I could be wrong but that is what she told me.

KB give them a call and make sure. I phone and get names and make tripple sure now before i do anything with the CAA

I have spoken to my instructor and to CAA
1. you must have 3 hours or more solo over the last 12 months, otherwise you will need a check ride

4. Summarise your last 12 months flying
5.Sign the last section, nothing else is needed on the form unless you have to do a checkride then the instructor needs to sign it

I think PPL is about 8 hrs, Imagine hiring your R500k + aerie out to someone that only does 8 hrs a year

But I guess we won't complain, the more simple the better and I guess if you look at the states you don't even need a license

I am in the process of renewing, and know that if the summary is not to CAA's liking they do not renew, starting a to&fro'ing of documentation.4. Summarise your last 12 months flying
Anyone know the EXACT way in which the summary should be done.

I understood you can just print it from easyplan, someone said once that they accept that, not sure. I keep mine there and once a few months and every end of year transfer the data to my pen and paper logbook.
Just did my flight med last month - doc made booboo and issued it for 2years instead of 5! Expired in August last year. License due for renewal on 20/05/07

Maybe it was not a boobooDarkHelmet wrote:Just did my flight med last month - doc made booboo and issued it for 2years instead of 5! Expired in August last year. License due for renewal on 20/05/07

Coleen's the one. She knows everything.
I was sent on a wild CAA goose chase before contacting her. She does the stuff everyday and probably knows more than they do.
(Certainly more than the instructor/ bozos who sent me off with my forms.)
Pay her dues and get it 2 days later.
