Hi Aeroman, I cannot confirm the current maintenance schedule requirtements as far as CAA is concerned, but irrespective of that, a silver top that has only done 300 hours has not been flown very frequently, and one of the biggest enemies of engines is prolonged periods of non use, where corrosion is able to set in.
A good local AP who knows Rotax 2 stroke engines will be your best bet, but I suggest that you should make peace with a complete strip down of the engine - with replacement of the crank and most moving parts You cannot buy peace of mind flying over inhospitable country, wondering whether you made the right choice to save some money by taking a chance
