Ground Elevation

Postby johnsa » Tue Nov 25, 2008 10:48 pm

Which airstrip is the highest in South Africa? I'am looking for 3 or 4 strips over 5000 ft.

Thanks

The whole of Jo'burg and surroundings' airstrips are over 5 000 ft - region of 5 200 ft.

Pretoria little lower at 4 800 ft average.

Limpopo is actually much lower than Joburg. Messina I think is in the region of 2 000 ft.

That's why it's so bloody hot there. (**)
