I noticed that Smiley has recently sold his trike and Bennie is trying....what is going on?? I have gone from wanting to fly 3 axis back to going the trike route....am I going in the wrong direction?

Real pilots legally, safely, and responsibly take a craft, heavier than air, and lift it away from the pull of mother earth, negotiate a passage through the wild blue yonder and return safely to the ground without any threat to life (yours or others ,human or not)

When you can consistently do this, you are a real pilot. It's not the craft you fly. Other wise you are just an operator of an implement.

A trike is and will always be a "go-cart" of the skies with little to match the wonderful experience.....

There is a shift from weight shift to 3-axis, but this is largely due to the huge influx and availability of these types at a lower cost than experienced in the past, combined with the higher wind tolerance that they can be flown at as well as the higher range and speeds.....

A trike purist (like Demon) wouldn't give you thanks for a 3-axis, whereas there are many trike pilots who went that route purely as it was the most cost effective entry point into powered flying, but would like to fly 3-axis due to it's many advantages....

We all have a love for flying whether it's 3 axis, weight shift or spinning wing - who cares lets just love it together, support & respect each others choice of A/C and have fun - :D

we have enough problems from the authorities with all their legislations, blik pilots who think we are play play pilots, and the general public who think we a the hells angels of the air

Definitely not, I think....! I use to own 2 microlights and I think it really doesn't make sense having to of the same, so I "sold" my shares in one.

Saturday myself and 3 other pilots did a flight from Springs to Rustenburg and back to support the EAA weekend. Wow, what an awesome flight! 4.1 hours!!

I will consider buying a second plane, fixed-wing, for distance flying, but me weightshift is still the best
