From Brazil to Capetown on a Savannah type ultralight

We flew last year from Ubatuba, Brazil, to Ushuaia, southern end of South America, then Up to USA, stopped at Oshkosh, continued to Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, England, France and Spain, then along the coast to Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, the down to Capetown South Africa.
The plane is now in Capetown, to sell.

I would like to continue flying to Tanzania, but the plane suffered some damage on the wings on a tornado while hangared, and since I live in Brazil it is a little complicated for me to fix it. I am thinking of bringing it back to Brazil to fix it here, too.

I agree with you on aesthetics, but nature puts some strange things to fly too, and the plane delivers what it promises.
It was made in Ecuador, and the builder affirms he helped Chris Heinz to develop the concept of the Zenair.

Sounds like an awesome flight. It may be better to repair the aircraft than to sell it here. If it does not have an Export Certificate of Authority, the SACAA is going to be difficult about it .

As to the repairs, perhaps try contact the local Zenith agent:

or perhaps Johan Froneman (contact details here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7209&p=74999&hilit= ... man#p74999 ). He has a some experience on Zenith airframes (and lives in the area).
