New website, posting pictures and 3G

Since the new website is up and running, I can't post any pictures with a Vodacom 3G connection. No problems at work, through the server but at home with 3G, no success. The site works fine, browse, select, but as soon as I select upload picture the thing uploads............and uploads ...........and nothing happens for hours.

I had no problem with the old site, and I recall not to have this problem with the temporary site as well.

Nobody else complains - so I presume it is a setting on my laptop.

I tried trough Firefox as well - same problem.

Pleeeeze help someone.

You are not alone!

I have 3G and have endless problems posting & uploading pics. I have already come into the habit of when posting replies I copy my message to the clipboard first in case it bombs me out! As for the photos..... what can I say!

Have similar problems on AVCOM and has something to do with phpBB!

Try this

go to Explorer tools, Internet options, connections, click on your connection in use, settings

THere is an entry for proxy server

set this to cache.saix.net and port to 8080

Does not work on Vodacom! Something to do with their Transparent Proxy they use .... It sucks!

Try the one in Namibia - it seems to work! Will be slower than normal but I only intend using it when I want to upload pics.... like below!

You guys are geniuses. I've studied the threads on AVCOM regarding 3G and Vodacom, but copied stuff like a parrot because I do not understand it fully. I also got this message:

Used info from 2007, so presume that server has changed or something. Used the Nam proxy settings from Bad Nav and voila!!!

For us ignorant okes - what is a PROXY server, and when is it transparent, and where the hell do you get this stuff. Does it get outdated and updated ??

You will at times get a warning when searching in Google etc. to put in a security check because the search looks automated! I had a chat to the chap that was having a go at Vodacom because of the problem and they did diddly squat about resolving the problem it seems. As I said, the browsing might be a bit slower so you only use it when uploading.
