Strings on trailing Trike edges

Strings on trailing Trike edges

I saw these Kotex strings hanging off the trailing edge of this Raptor. Is there a reason for this, apart from being cool. I can't see the wash out batons either unless they are inside the wing.

I think they are there to make it easier to stretch the bungi cords onto the battons.
