Malmesbury Aviation Estate

Postby The Agent » Tue Nov 06, 2007 3:32 pm

As you guy's know I am involved in the residential AVIATION estate just out of Malmesbury.

But as some of you might also have seen there is another crowd also looking to do some form of international freight airport very close to ours.

We have had our proposal in for some time and it was approved by SA CAA

BUT

Now I believe soem ANC character is also involved with the freight field and all of a sudden our developement was put on hold.

If we allow that airfiels to go ahead you guys in Cape Town will have no where to fly. Apperently this other opperation is also going to opperate in some wet lands to get the runway direction, I thought wet lands were sacred.
I need some help from the GA guy's in the area we need to start speeking to CAA.

They seem to want to move the GA gyus out even further as housing developements are taking place all over and now that we try and create a village for the GA people again some asshole sticks a piece of steel in the spokes.

Comments please.

I am in the process of preparing some visual material to show you guy's the magnatude of this developement.
Hopefully tonight some visuals will be available.

I have said for some time here where there is smoke there is a fire. We cannot just ignore this international airport plans. We will (as you rightly say) have nowwhere to fly down here in Cape Town.
On the other hand when these ANC dudes walk in and they smell money to be made, NOBODY will stop them either. Its a catch 22. They have stopped you guys already, and believe me, thats just the beginning. What is the route to follow to throw a spanner in THEIR works? A petition will not work . Everybody will sign it and they will just ignore it. I am not negative here, but i know how they operate.

But, if there is something to be done, we certainly must not wait any longer.

Oh yes. If there is an environmental issue as far as the wetlands are concerned, we can stall them for a very long time. Maybe someone here knows the law and what route to follow. But that seems a solid spanner for their works as far as i am concerned.
I know the local government wanted to develop the coastline/beaches in Mossle Bay, but because of environmental issues they BATTLE to get it through for years now.

Bacchus, can you perhaps give me more info on the wetlands, because some or other rich guy wants to develope the farm just next to Philadelphia streching all the way over the N7 past the Atlantis/Philadelphia crossing.

Everyone in town is against it so we need all the info we can get.

Agent, as far as the airport at Kalbaskraal, we know to little. With the farmers in the area and with the help of our newly formed Tax Payer Ass. we might just be of some help.

Unfortunetly i have no info on the wetlands. i dont even know where they are.
Just one more question. Where will the government get the money for a project like this? They are barely going to make it for the soccer in 2010!
