Finance?

Postby redbaron » Fri May 25, 2007 12:58 pm

Hi there.
Me and a co-worker are looking at buying a streak shadow to have some fun with over weekends. Priced at between 80 - 100 thousand we thought financing it would be simular to financing a car. We phoned West Bank but it seems asif they are only interested in larger deals. Is there a way one can finance something like this. This is a little to large for personal loans.
Also, what is the general concensus on the streak shadow, is it a good plane?
Thanks
Der Rote Baron.
Ps Hope this post is in the right category

Red - the finance houses don't like the second hand deals for some reason.

Personal loan, credit card, overdraft or second bond is the way most people do it when they buy second hand.

Ditto: how true, the banks only want as they call the cream of the crop goods, second hand flying machines are "not welcome"

Hi Redbaron

Welcome to the forum hope you spend many happy hours in here :P The finance thing has been debated many times over. I personally think prostitution is the answer, but my wife disagrees and says shes not wearing anything that short :!: Didnt stop her when we were dating  wering something short I mean  In any case, DH is right. To try and get finance is 3 caracters short of a loony tune  get a bond.....

Red Baron, I recently went the second bond route, after I was told by Wesbank Aviation that they would only consider financing a microlight that is either brand new or not more than 3 years old.
Ask Rudix on the forum about the Streak Shadow, he's got one of those lovely beasties in his box of toys. :D

Hi there.

If you really would like to finance your deal, then please PM me.

FF and I are approved WESBANK used microlight dealers, and we can arrange finance for any amount, even as little as R40 000.

You will, however, have to arrange to get me to inspect the aircraft, and value it.

If your credit rating is good, and the price is right, I can assure you that WESBANK will finance the deal.

Later,
David Daniel

Thanks guys, seems like there are a couple of options to finance.
I will try these suggestions and see if one pans out :)
Thanks again.

Try Hennie on here for opinion. He had one.

My partner in C182 some time back had one, but they did not consider it a 2 up machine. Even did convex at Petit with andy on handheld.

I highly recommend Aircrew Financial Services. They went out of there way to assist me with part financing on my plane, insurance etc. A one stop shop with great customer service:

Give Sean a call, if he can't help no one can!!!
