Help Needed!! Flying kids from the NYDT

Postby SIQ » Wed Mar 28, 2007 9:04 am

ERMF based at Microland has been approached by MISASA to assist in flying kids from the National Youth Development Trust (NYDT see http://www.nydt.org/home.asp?pid=903). It started of as 30 kids but on short notice it became 70-80. Any assitance will be greatly appreciated. It will start at 6:45 this Sa @ Microland and would probably continue until 9:00. We have 13 confirmed pilots from Microland. Each pilot will get a MISASA T-Shirt and Boerewors Roll.

DarkHelmet wonders if he can hotwire a certain GT-450!

I cannot make it either! AXC is in for her make-over. Can be there for moral support ;) Going for a training session in a challenger out that way Saturday.

Yes folks , they had a great day - thats the kids - they arrived late , but at least they arrived and we flew , yep we flew and flew and ......flew
The late start left some of the volunteers leaving early- (late ) , but some other trike as well as the trainers from Microland climbed in and we had trkes in the air and on the ground being controlled by Peter Wood and pax master Hans . its guite a job flying 50 + kids at 11 to 1 on a Saturday .
We had 3 early landings due to "nervous " passengers , but mishaps whatsoever . Well done to Louis Jirdaan , Misasa and ERMF as well as Microland and the pilots who volunteered to flip a kid - Im sure many kids will never forget this day - Fly safely Leprachaun ZU -CHG today
A pilot lives by perfection , or not at all!

It was a good day, but unfortunately I had to leave as the kids arrived at 10h00. Thanks to MISASA for the T Shirt and Boerie roll.
Let's see if we can make this a regular event in Gauteng. I suggest one of these a month with different groups of kids. We could rotate the airfield a well. We need to get more kids interested in flying, not to mention the fun they have on the day.
I am available to assist in organising if required.
