RV4Ker

Last time I saw a new one listed (2006) they were around $53,000 with a 912 engine.

It is a nice trike, but I would rather go for the 450 anyday. Nothing available to beat that!

Regards
Barry

Gorgeous plane and colour! Compared to a GT450 though the value for money doesn't seem as appealing? The GT has 912S which should be wonderful at reef alts.

Now at 14.19 / Rand = R305 085. What is the GT?

Then does it really cost $10k to import?

Also does GT come with instruments etc vs Tanarg? Just out of interest cause both are stunners.

$10K was for import from USA for a blik. Includes FAA paperwork, disassemble, pack, freight, clear customs here, ship to Jhb from Durbs, reassemble, reg with CAA, test flight and my convex...

Think a trike only in region of R30K for airfreight

8) Now I can retract my Ebay post for my kidney :P.

I know that a wing from the states air freight to Jhb Int is around 6k with Ins. These trikes are just looking better and better.

Get the pears to look as much like apples as possible?

Surely if both "empty" trikes cost say 350k and B 370k then you can decided for yourself if B is worth the xtra 20.

Hi Guys

The GT450 comes pretty much full house with little need to add much more other than a radio and intercom.

Roughly you are looking at a landed price including shipping and Vat, of R330 000

See spec below:

Quik GT450 Rotax 912s (100hp 4-stroke)
GT450 wing with electric trim system. Electric start. Slipper clutch. Engine cover.
Flydat, ASI, altimeter, VSI, compass, electronic fuel gauge, fuel flow meter, battery supply meter. Mixture control. Rigging gas strut (helps lift the wing for you). One person rigging and de-rigging.
65 litre fuel tank. Portable storage bag clips into space under pilot’s legs.
Trike & propeller covers. Front strut protector. Lynx antenna & interface power lead.
P&M AVIATION SA. Quik GT450, Mainair and Pegasus Trikes

Tried the excercise a while ago on a well know local Trike. Most are usually priced without equipment. Asked for price with all the equipment, instruments, cockpit, hydraulic disc brakes, trim etc. I was suprised that it ended up more expensive than the landed price of impoted model.

I guess we wont go into the performace aspect.

 Yea that'd be real salt in the wound

With regards to customs what is the trike shipped as? When I queried a wing from the US I was told "aluminium tubing". What does the tax work out to as a %?

Big G
Any chance of getting a second hand aerie shipped here by Big G enterprises in association with the P&M guys in UK? I am after a 912 deck chair, but can't justify the 450's R300K (yet). Was looking more in the R150K bracket? Maybe even a 618 blade? I don't have the time to go over there or do it from here. Will agents be willing to inspect and pack a second hand trike in UK (obviously for a fee) and then ship and have it assembled here?

Looking for a turnkey import job so to speak..  -0< ':- dm:
