JOHANNESBURG – Two East Rand teenagers missing since Saturday were found unharmed at a friend’s house on Tuesday.
Joanita Bishop 14, and Monica Walv, 14, who were at the Lions rugby match at Ellis Park with the Bishop family on Saturday, arrived at home after the match at 10pm.
Joanita’s mother, Sonja Bishop said she thought the teenagers had gone to bed, but the teenagers decided to sneak out of the house.
“My neighbour said he heard something from his bedroom at 11pm, and we suspect it was Joanita and her friend who had jumped the wall and been picked up by a male friend.â€Â
The girls had slept over at a friend’s house in Dersely Park, Springs, since Saturday night.
East Rand police’s Captain Jethro Mtshali, said, “The girls had been up to mischief. They were too scared to go back home because they would be in troubleâ€Â
Raymond Walv, Monica’s father said he was just happy the children were safe and sound.
According to Joanita’s parents the teenagers had still not divulged what exactly happened on their weekend spree.
