Flying help in Kosi Bay area

Postby mike2flyfar » Fri Feb 23, 2007 4:16 pm

Brave volunteer pilots are needed to assist the police in the Kosi Bay area to do a survey along the Mozambique / SA border. The survey will entail flying along the border (about 150 km) from the coast up to Swaziland to identify, mark, photograph and direct the police to areas where illegal cross-border activities are or could be taking place.

There will be assistance towards your expenses like fuel and accommodation.

Contact Chris Barnard for full details on tel 082 9057614 or eskimoice@telkomsa.net

This is beautiful territory. Did army camps here. If you can stand the mozzies.

Lots of game. Elephants testing the police camp fence enclosure.

Had to trace paths from a 25 yr map. Encountered local population who had never seen a white man. ( OK, most were younger than 12)

Although my intentions were good in that I thought microlighters could help with crime fighting by assisting the police in the Kosi Bay area, Alan Mackenzie (through his contacts with senior police officials) has brought it to my attention that this particular request for assistance is not being handled in the most constructive manner. It once again reminds me to check directly with the local police chief on matters of this nature before acting.

If anyone has already made arrangements to do some flying in the Kosi Bay area in regard to this request, I suggest you contact Alan or myself for more information.

Cheers

Mike
