Question about dual ignition

Postby psg » Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:51 pm

Hi Everyone
I have just read a article on the internet that says that nobody in South Africa flies a microlight on a single ignition? Just wandering what people have to say about it?

Bollocks!......is what this people say about it.
I personally know 2 pilots at my airfield that fly single ignition, and I bet there's lots more....Whoever wrote that doesn't have a clue what he/she is talking about.
Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two

There are very few single ignitions flying. Nothing wrong with them, just they were replaced with dual ignitions. Personally I have never had an ignition problem on any one of the two ignition systems in my 503 so the level of redundancy so far has not been needed.

However, the only engine-related engine-out at morning star was on a single ingition 503. Dirty plugs, etc.

Most other problems have been fuel related and will affect any engine

Look after it well, service regularly and it should serve you well.

Fly a single ignition 503, and have had no problem. Treat it well and check it regularly. and fly safley. :D :D :D
