Hi Percy and welcome to the forum. :)

Hmmm, I'm not trying to be rude but who did you pay when you took delivery? Surely the registered owner would have signed the CAR47 forms for Change of ownership?
No way you can re register the plane without that form as well as the paperwork associated with the ZS @@@ plane? Logbooks, manuals, weight and balance, etc etc etc

Not sure what has transpired in your transaction...but you will have to call the CAA and ask them who the registered owner is. This is public knowelege and they will then give you his/her last known Tel no. The registration is done through the CAA and following that you will need to have it inspected and then apply for a new ATF through RAASA.

If you have no paperwork you are in for a tough time i'm afraid.
Good luck to you, I just hope you have not been shafted or scammed. :(

CAA:Tel: 011 – 545 1000
RAASA: 011 082 1000

Hi Nico & Bundy,

Thank for your replies & guidance & Welcoming on the forum. (^^)

Nico - The microlight is a LASER XL with yamaha 500cc motor.... must say the motor & condition of the microlight is top class. well looked after for the model 1989. Im in the Boksburg : Brakpan area right next to Brakpan airfield vhpy

Bundy - Yes i made the mistake not to do my homework when taking ownership of the microlight  .luckly i have the paperwork associated with the ZS plane? Logbooks, manuals, weight and balance .
I contact the CAA and a very helpful lady did follow up and gave me some options after speaking to her manager... most likely to go to the cop shop for a affidavit , then to court make appointment with the judge and take 3rd party ownership. I now also have the registered persons name but only PO Box address...no other details :(> .....so i'll try the latter option 1st.
Once i have done / followed up on this looooooong process , i'll do the required processes inspection ,AFT. ($$) ($$) ($$) .

Hope you get sorted Percy.

CAA has been very helpful (to me at least) in the past.... once the registration is done, your ATF should not be too much hassle as you at least have the plane records. :)

Good luck (!!)

Best of luck. You will be jumping through lots of hoops.
While it is a lot of work, it is not impossible.
