NTCA / MICROLIGHT / SPORT CATEGORY?

Postby Wingless Nut » Tue May 30, 2006 9:29 am

So, whats the real story here? Rumours are doing the rounds that CAA is working :?: on a new sport category whereby guys in possession of an MPL can fly their aircraft loaded to its maximum design all up weight (past the 450 kg MPL limit). Apparently the limitation will be 600 kg MAUW. Is this correct or is a new Sport Pilot Licence also in the making? What exactly will this entail? How would medicals differ from MPL & PPL?Can anybody please enlighted the uninformed like myself. No more speculation please as only facts will be useful.
