I have been offline for 10 days and missed the earlier thread about the XT912 article – heavy rains have taken out my landline not to mention both my hangar and home being flooded twice in two weeks.
With regard to the trike article appearing in Aviation and Safety magazine – the article has me as the author, this is incorrect the credit should go to Gerrit Wessels who was holidaying in the area and did some flying with me. He was so impressed with the Airborne XT 912 that he took it upon himself to write and submit the article. Thanks Gerrit. I merely provided the photos.
Despite being a performance trike (level flight VNE 98MPH) I have no qualms about using the XT for training. The handling is so predictable and stable. Quite a few up country pilots have now flown it and anyone is welcome to join me for a test flight when in the Plettenbergbay area.
More of the Airborne range can be seen at Cato Ridge – the Redback 503, Classic 582 and Edge XT 912 versions are all based & flying from there.

I am still heartbroken for just not being in time to buy your Airborne 582 Mark.
Must admit that to me the Airborne is the best looking trike.
Cheers
