Forgetfullness.

Postby Blue Max » Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:38 pm

I admit, i am a few years older than the average pilot.
And, i am concerned that what has happened to me by occasion might be blamed to my age!!!( I hope not.)
Is it normal to forget something.????
for instance, to fasten your seatbelt, or ...??? or..???... (**) (**)
Surely, i cant be the only one who sometimes during flight remember something i have forgotten...

1. Paul van Schalkwyk is the oldest and wisest member of the VS. In actual fact, the VS was only formed April last year, when he was the only person who took up on the thread, and joined and committed for the NAM trip.

2. When I planned my first coastal trip (Ezulwini 2009) he joined in. Nobody else. And two weeks later he took of in the dark from his farm @ Marble Hall, and flew around South Africa, by himself.

3. The above was achieved, well into his 60's (Volgende jaar is Blue Max 70?? is ek reg oom Paul??)

4. There is Spirit, and there is logistics. Yes - Oom Polla - now and again you miss a thing or two - but you have people who will look out for that, and help. (Maybe getting a bit irritated, maar dis nou maar so! vhpy vhpy )

Ek is bly ek ken jou.

Hey Anthony,

Yes, it is only "half a checklist" as I wanted to just illustrate the seat belt example!

I am aware of the sensitivities around the use of checklists amongst trike pilots so would not have wanted to abuse forum space for more than just "an illustration"!!

Cheers!
