Hi,

The "solid alu" hub is the newer version - haven't heard of one cracking.

Hi John
Thanks for your reply.

"My Cheetah had a WARP fitted. Now has to be replaced due to cracks found in the hub! Not the first one this has happened to I must add.... "

This appear in a resent post. also not the first time I saw it mention on the site, hence the question. My trike also has the solid hub on, just want to know if I regularly must start to check for cracks.

Thanks

I also had the same problem with cracks on my Warp drive hub but it was still the old type hub with the black flanges on each side, I replaced it with the new solid aluminium hub and never had any problems till I sold it.

I picked up the problem while my trike was still new way back in the year 2000, the trike was not not even a year old and had very low hours on it, I took it of and send it back to Solowings, the gave me a middle finger with a dear Johny letter and told me to buy the new solid aluminium hub which cost me a fortune!

The solid hub (2 piece HP or HPL) variant is the culprit.

John Y, I'll post photos of my Cheetah's hub when I get it back. vhpy

I just this morning ordered and paid for the replacement @ Comet Aviation (R2689) after getting a rather expensive shock as to what a Kiev will cost to fit (R15000)!

Hi Guys,

Check out this post from earlier of such a hub that did indeed fail in flight - in our opinion due to corrosion and obviously overlooked at preflight and never inspected with full dissasembly.
