ZS-NEL

In short, the owner had the following plan of action in mind:
1) New gravel runway next to existing runway - to be completed in the next 3 months
2) Then follow the upgrade of existing runway to a 2,3km x 18m/20m wide tar runway - to be completed in the next 18 months
3) Then follow new modern hangers (talk about concrete roof hangers???) - 18 months after tar runway completion
Owner has the vision of charter planes operating in and out of Rhino, the reason for the long/wide runway, apparently someone already contacted him for this reason.

The other guys that attended can correct me where i went wrong or left something out.

For me personally:
a) Not sure that we can work on the time frame provided, as in the past something always crop up that take preference to the runways
b) Don't know if we can wait for 3-5 years for decent dust free hangers
c) Not sure we want to operate our small gyro plane out of a second Lanseria airport if all the above goes according to plan.

The good news is that the new restaurant should open soon for all to enjoy, estimate within the next 3-6 months.

Quoted from Microlight airfields in South Africa edition 2, Jan and Elsabe Coetzee, 2004, under the Rhino Park heading:
"Notes: Runways being tarred and extended." I am not holding my breath on this one. The meeting was held to give the hangar rent payers the impression something was being done in the short term. My short term and Kobus' obviously differ since he was already quoted in 2004 on same topic. He doesn't want us to look for hangarage elsewhere. I agree with him that we don't contribute hugely to his income, but little is better than nothing. Agent, you are going to need a lot of popcorn for this one.
The person who says it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
