and amazingly strong

I had a good look at the Loehle Mustang Ranger is restoring and the 4 longerons (the 4 main fuselage braces that run the length of the fuselage) are made from 3/4inch (19mm) wood.

Don't knock the older technologies, good quality long lasting aircraft

okay, so the deal is now done and sealed, so nothing I say from this point on will affect the outcome (Willing buyer, willing seller - right ?)

My thoughts are just that the sale and asking price was way too low. (Good luck for the new owner, of course). I mean realistically, look at the price of a very basic kit and used 582 blue top and a few instruments and you are well into R200k plus....

Is this just an indication that aviation times in SA are hard? Most folk looking at the price would have assumed something was wrong with the plane at that price and hence not pursued buying it.... I cannot believe that a flying school didn't snap it up too.....

On the overseas market, you will pay at least three times the price for a similar example....
