Worked most of the day tried some trike flying but by that time the wind had changed East .The eastwind rolls over the mountains and gives am unpleasant ride so went home and worked on the Bosvarkie. I tidied some of the wires and finished the final touches on the silicone seal . I'm showing the chin part that goes around the landing light recesses. All time consuming little detail . Put in another temp probe for the oil temp of the backup system. If anybody plans on a loom and you have worked out to say use 20 wires then double up you will need the wires. Here are some pics enjoy them.

Actually that is a serious modification . I get a cheap temp probe does not matter which value and then I put a K-type probe in there with a suitable glue that can withstand the heat. Then I have a 1/8" NPT fitting with a K-type probe. Then I can use the 12channels on the RADC from MGL Voyager and that gives me a total of 12 channels for monitoring . The Bosvarkie is I think at this stage the most widely monitored home built at least in Durbanville, I don't know maybe in the rest of the country. So now I see my deeds are being monitored.

Oupa modifies everything. When he went for the hip replacement op, he soon modified his crutches. His camera is modified too, to fit his HANDS. He`s got BEEEEG hands...... so this mod does not surprize me!

Boet has a new image and the nose of the Bosvark is finished. Today fitted the cowling to see how the silicone seals fit. Luckily the cowling is transparent so I can see the fit all round a good seal in the one photo you see the intake to the oil cooler. This is temporary as I do not know if this is the permanent pickup or if we are picking up the airflow from the rear baffle wall. During the test flying measuring the pressures in the front and the back part of the cowling will give the answers. Not having a wind tunnel it forces me to get the data test flying. I really could do with a little wind tunnel in my back garden. I was at the Microlight meeting at Morning Star the guys were complaining not enough pictures. The chaps supporting this "Soapy" get quite fussy now.
Enjoy the pics
