Thank You

Postby alanmack » Mon Feb 05, 2007 8:42 pm

Hello

I came out of ICU yesterday. I had the works. Pipes out my feet, hands, neck, into my mouth and nose and an epidural into my spine. I finally got the ICU to agree to tell me the time every 15 minutes > it must be the longest “ceiling inspection” that I have ever conducted. With two sisters being retired hospital matrons I had the casualty on duty doctor swept aside as my sister arrived with whom I now agree to be the best surgeon in town within 30 minutes of being shot. With pipes gone I have tackled the recovery requirement of walking 1 km before I am released.

I have however received the most wonderful basket from MISASA on behalf of all of you. The centrepiece has a bottle of scotch and a FHM magazine in it. Fruit, chocolates, yoghurt and dried fruit are but some of what makes up the balance of the basket. Thank you all.

Without hesitation I recommend the medical profession in Cape Town. The nursing staff, doctors, physio etc have been fantastic.

Please assure our friends that I am undeterred in my resolve to be a contribution in our fight against crime.

The MISASA Wild Coast fly-away is set for 2 to 5 June and I hope to fly the Mozambique coast in early April.

Kind regards and thanks for the wishes from so many of you,

Alan

Recovery

Postby Pumba » Tue Feb 06, 2007 6:58 am

Hi Alan

That Orange machine with the 2 eyes is waiting! Absolutely thrilled to hear that you are doing well. Keep up the good spirit, and all the best for a speedy recovery.

(I never got to meet or thank you, but I was in SA in September, and I wanted a demo on a topless wing. Jenya arranged for us to fly your trike. Awesome wing.)

Government will wake up and take note of the effect of this BS only when they feel it hit home themselves. As long as it affects others, its not their problem.

Should we arrange something? Executive Outcomes??

On the Front page of Yesterdays Beeld is some more. Friends of ours were attacked in their driveway and both Mother and Father were shot but only lightly wounded. I am starting to get a very itchy trigger finger
