Not possibly - it has been out since 2008. Owner only allowed if supervised by AP/AME as things stand now.
That is exactly the way that I read Johns statement.

100% AndyG and I did too - I was being verbose so no one can misinterpret it.

So few have voiced their grumpiness, that the lack of outcry leads me to believe that either owners are just ignoring the regs and continuing as they have for the last 100 years, or they have accepted it. Both have there own set of consequences.

New regs Part 62.10

Postby John Young » Wed Apr 21, 2010 2:01 pm

Hi Guys,

Possibly no more owner supervised maintenance actually should read -

NO OWNER MAINTENANCE WHETHER SUPERVISED OR OTHERWISE - NADA - NIX - ZIP.

All to be done by an AP/AMO including plugs, filters, fuel lines, the whole bang-shoot.

Makes me GRUMPY.

New regs Part 62.10

I have four objections, viz.

1. Flight folio - It is onerous and I fail to see what value it can add to the small stuff we fly.

2. Flight test regardless of total time, time on type and hours flown last 12 months. This is flawed in that it is not capped.

3. Test flight by a rated test pilot after every service / routine maintenance - this is just so impractical.

4. No more owner-supervised maintenance.

MISASA - you have your work cut out. Good luck and go toe-to-toe if necessary.
Hi,

We have allowed this issue to slip down about 6 pages.

I believe this needs to be revived.

I am a newby in all of this, but as we are currently trying to help with the search to cheaper engine alternatives to the existing, it all seem in vain as a continued onslaught from the rich on the poor is being raged. We are currently banging against the bureaucratic wall in trying to obtain the ATF for the Yaris / Cobra project. It all seem like an impossible obstacle for any future developments. Does it mean that we should rather stop the Toyota 1KR / Aquilla project?
