Pre-Report Comment: Saturday is not great but Sunday is an awesome day for flying. If flying in to Swartkops on Saturday, check WindGuru for Swartkops. My personal rule of thumb is that when orange and red start to appear on the 'winds aloft' chart I use the day to do aircraft maintenance! :wink:

Comment: Low pressure system off the east coast is bringing a cold front through, the weather from which is expected to hit us (Magaliesberg/Aeroden) over the weekend, hence the lower temperatures and cloud on Sat & Sun, along with a slight possibility of rain. Wind conditions will be limited though (refer to detailed reports and WindGuru charts below) making both days quite flyable.

Pre-Report Comment: Weather conditions this weekend are not great for flying! ## If you venture out be especially careful if you end up flying slightly later in the mornings on either Saturday or Sunday. Also, steer well clear of the SOUTHERN sides of the Magaliesberg. Sunday really should be used as a 'maintenance day'! Please take care!

Comments: Not a good day for flying. Winds worsen significantly towards midday and the afternoon. Exercise special care if taking to the skies. Be aware of tailwind conditions for landing on Aeroden 18! ## ##

Wind: NNE 4-8 knots increasing to NNW 11-16 knots later in the morning. WARNING: Winds are much higher (NW 16-24) later in the afternoon! ## ##
High-Level Winds: Yes, very high winds aloft, so BEWARE of rotors on the SOUTHERN side of the Magliesberg! ## ## ##
Temperatures: 10-22C
Cloud Cover: No
Precipitation: No

Comments: Not a good day for flying AT ALL! Worse than Saturday. Winds worsen significantly towards midday and the afternoon. Exercise special care if taking to the skies. Be aware of tailwind conditions for landing on Aeroden 18! ## ##

Weather Flying Tip: When landing in tailwind conditions, add 20% airspeed to counter gusting from the rear!
