Advice wanted on what GPS to buy.

Technical questions, advice, sharing information etc (aircraft, engines, instruments, weather and such)

Hi Byron, I use a Lowrance 600C which for some reason does not work any more :oops: and is in for repairs.

At this moment I`m using my garmin etrex vista c, not sure I will be mounting the Lowrance again.

It took some time to draw the jeppesen airspace data for the gauteng area (radius 200nm) it works fine as an overlay onto to the Garmap Streetmaps now I have the best of two worlds :wink:

GPS III

Normal Garmin GPS III not Pilot GPS III. Was used by a safari company for Damara Land Kaoko Veld trips for 6 months.

Looks exactly the same next to one another. Nothing down loaded on GPS. Only user waypoints.

Unfortunately the non Pilot version does not have all the airspace and airport data and it cannot be updated to contain it :cry:
