BMW GS1200 motor
Re: BMW GS1200 motor
That is the sort of figures one gets to. It all depends if you get your second set of injecters new or second hand . The nice part is you can get everything from the engine suppliers. The rest of the stuff we have all in stock. On the E-boxi supply we control every step from design production of the motherboard and the assembly line and the testing. For knowledgable people the box can be tuned with Windows. For the not so electronically minded please leave it to the experts.Any questions contact me on 0849753331

Can you please tell me what this "tuning via windows achieves?
Kind regards,
Gunter Rostek.
Re: BMW GS1200 motor
We tune the box with a basic running program and it is made so that it can be fine tuned by a Lambda sensor. To keep it simple we are sticking at this stage to a basic program.
Not having a Lambda sensor means you can run avgas when that is the only fuel available. If the aircraft is suitably equiped EGT'sthen a adjustable mixture can be installed and the airframe prop combination can be fine tuned and stored in its memory. This process can be traced adjusted and stored with the hyperterminal in Windows. If somebody is not a fundi we prefer to leave things alone. It is not difficult with detonation to burn holes in pistons Gunter I hope this answers your question
Cheers Oupa-G

Any updates on this motor setup. Could be a worthwhile setup to try in a cheetah. Rattex price is becoming insane now.
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.

Re: BMW GS1200 motor
Here`s some photos of a Raptor with a Take-off Box and fuel system.
This motor is from an R100S. On a trip to Moz. we averaged 7.4Lt / Hr while the 582 Cobra was burning 17Lt / Hr
The new R1200GS motor is fitted with an internal balancing shaft and it is turbine smooth.
"Take off " also supplies a dual ignition system forthe new motor.

Re: BMW GS1200 motor
The engine management on this one is straight out of a R1100S " Bosch" The wiring harness was made by Take-off to suit the instalation.Stephan van Tonder wrote:Nice install there mike. IS the engine management on that one the bosch original or also from take-off?.

Re: BMW GS1200 motor
Mike Cordeiro and Oupa - G, and any others involved with BMW motors. You might have followed my accident of last Friday with my seized Rotax 503 on ZU-AZP (refer Accident forum). My intention is to get AZP going a.s.a.p. to get in the air again. But the incident got me thinking, left many options open and this is where I need your advice.
I am in a position where I can buy a zero hour Take off BMW 1150R complete with starter, alternator, slipper clutch, gearbox, stainless steel exhaust and silencer, oil cooler and oil instruments. Ready to install except for engine mounting brackets. Price is good, machine is in South Africa.
What are my options ?
ZU-AZP is a Windlass undercarriage with an Acquilla wing.
Option 1: Install the BMW in the above configuration, can the u/c and wing take this ?
Option 2: Get AZP going with 503 and start a seperate project with the BMW engine on another second-hand airframe,
Option 3 : Buy a Jenya performance topless wing and find a suitable undercarriage for speed, and build the 1150R in there.
My purchase option on the engine expires in 5 days. Please advise !
Thanks in advance, I don't want to miss this oppurtunity on the motor.

Re: BMW GS1200 motor
P.S. The BMW total wet weight comes in at 76kg compared to the 503 with E-box at 39 (?) kg.
