The power outputon the new 'blue top' engine is exactly the same. The following are the changes in the 'blue top' engine.
1. The cooling circuit now has a return the pump to prevent cavitation. When the engine is cool, the coolant is returned to the pump for circulation through the engine. As the coolant temp. increases, the coolant is then allowed to pass through the radiator for cooling as required. This helps maintain higher coolant temperatures.
2. The seals behind the water pump has been changed from a conventional rubber seal to a rotary or mechanical seal.
The rest of the engine has remained exactly the same.

Just takes a little longer after startup to get to working temp. before you can go full throttle.
