Nobody from Aeroclub or any of their affilliates has even bothered to answer the challenge... Tells you how much they care!

Because they lack the courtesy to communicate with their fare paying membership !

The fact that the AGM vote for the approval of the financial statement was a 22 vote against 21, says it all.

49% are not happy. Go open the EAA website and see what's on there front page.

We are not alone.

When 1000 of your members are disgruntled

Could someone please explain to me why microlighters cannot go it alone. Why does the microlighters organisation (be it called MISASA or something else) have to be part of Aeroclub? From the above it sounds as if Aeroclub benefits from MISASA members' membership fees and numbers, whilst microlighters reap little benefit?

Thugs? Undisciplined?

The mass fly-pass by the members at Swartkops proved the opposite. Apart from one uninformed individual, who was sorted in no time, all went extremely well. I understand all the official people involved were full of praise at the safe and orderly way it was pulled off.

I am told that Atholl is critical of me and the mag. Interesting as I spoke to him about an hour ago. Our mag remains a membership fun publication that is not required to stick to strict starchy publication guidelines and we will continue to accept cell phone pictures and allow members to be themselves without harsh editorial interventions to get stories to be offered in the Queen's best English. Should someone out there like to take over from me and volunteer for the Editor's job please count on my support. In the interim, the mag will continue to be produced against the benchmark of a school yearbook rather than the latest issue of the Queen's Horse & Hound!

Fly safe and please do have your say.
When I saw John's post on FB I was wondering if the success of Microflight Africa did not cause what we call in Afrikaans "suur druiwe". Small budget, no payed staff, overworked editor, yet a quality product.

Alan, I think the members will voice their concern if the mag is drifting off target. We are not "owned" by others, so editorial policy gets decided by you and the exco, guided by member input.

Athol Franz went to great pains to inform the meeting that he owns a Cessna 180,totally out of context to the discussion. He omitted to inform the meeting, whilst he was mouthing off, that he owns 1/10 of a Cessna 180. I mention this as a result of his 'better than thou" attitude toward microlight pilots. (**) Got this info from Guy Lietch who chuckled out this little gem during Athol's diatribe. They must be good friends!

I too will not be purchasing the African Pilot ever again. Maybe with a dwindling readership he will learn not to be a loud mouthed, egotistical braggart trying to score brownie points. I trust that all the Microlighters join together and boycott his publication ##

I too sent an email to Arthole Franz and got a long winded reply about how he has recently dismissed some staff member for insubordination ......... Ja, me too, I have absolutely no idea what that has to do with his way out of order comment.

Fot the record, I will no longer buy his magazine, and I fully support the MISASA magazine which despite no paid staff, is interesting and humorous (^^)

Bwahahaha!  Sorry, but that's funny!
Good news for me though, I was given an authentic key ring the other day so now I can tell every girl I see I actually own a Ferrari.

Go MISASA and more power to Microflight Africa (^^)
