I was in the Wintervogel hanger for the whole of Sunday (yesterday) - can honestly say at times I was very worried. The wind on the doors and roofing was something else. Thought came to mind what if a panel gives... New shooping centre closer to me house lost its roof. Luckily it sounds if remaining hangers in the area are ok?..

This one is going to need us to stand together. SAD ..SAD,
Grumps, you are an organiser of note, any ideas on the fund raiser.
For starters our breakfast morning can start as a trigger for the rest.
Someone from Conties needs to get an account number for us.
Ideas??

Graham.

Someone down there should open an account (or use their club account) and people can start donating......

Guys,

I was devastated when I saw this post. Regrets to all affected.

Just reading the various posts if a bank account number or fund raising committee is arranged I will certainly contribute in what ever way I can.

Chins up guys you will get there.

You are more than welcome to erect your own hangar at Morning Star. Give me a call 08three two36 five1five3

I'm afraid this will probably mean the end of Contermanskloof. Fortunately a significant number of planes had already moved over to Morning Star. So I don't think they are going to try to rebuild the airfield per se. The runway will remain .

However it's the personal loss that is significant. 10 planes at my last count completely destroyed, most not insured.

I have spoken to a cousin of mine who works at WeatherSA and I have sent her the pics. She is sending a team out to investigate
