Keeping your feet on pedals whilst landing

Hi there

Just wondered if this has ever been a problem. On my last training session we were practicing landings when both feet slipped of the pedals. Luckily the instructor had his feet firmly on his steering aswell. I must say the field is very bumpy but the soles of my tekkies are not that new anymore aswell. Do not want this to happen again. So what do you guys wear or do to prevent this?

I used to make it a part of my final landing checks, nosewheel straight and knees locked. But then I am sure your instructor has told you that already

Mogas, what about people like me who are 6ft 2!
We cant lock our knees in trikes!
I would just make sure my legs are putting pressure on the pedals!

The aerotrike front wheels setup can be changed, for long or shorter legs, has 3 settings on the main boom near the bowsprit.

I am interested in why the front wheel is not designed to 'camber' backwards? (camber is probably the wrong word) Like a shopping trolly wheel?
Makes sense to me that the wheel will then tend to follow the direction of travel anyway. Some tricycle undercarriage aircraft (Bush Babies) clearly have the wheel aft of the pivot point for that reason. ?

That would be castor JR
Probably has something to do with effective steering, also if you touch down an out of alignment castor wheel it shimmies (flicks side to side) very fast and I doubt one would be able to keep feet on the pedals.
