Talking k@k

Hey all fellow members

We have had a few threads recently that ventured into politics and quite rightly they were slammed as being non-aviation in nature. Whilst I support the current rules of the forum is there not scope to have a section on this forum for non-aviation chatter???

I know a number of you do not want this forum to go the way of another similar forum (which shall remain nameless ) but I think some healthy debate about current issues is good, as long as done in a constructive way.

Hi Slysi,

To me, all things is aviation related. To share my view, all the politics, , and is all things to think about while flying. and that make it aviation related!!

But on a more serious note, you have to take into account that not all members has the same moral, political and religious views. And that is why I would prefer that we stick to rules, otherwise this forum will be as bitchy as "mocva" (Read reverse) in no time, and it will break the spirit. Rather talk politics over a or , but to air comments that can hurt someone and push them away, is rather not called for.

We are all here because of aviation that binds us! Lets keep the flowing, and not the .

Yeah, I see your point but I still think we should be able to have a decent conversation without being hurtful to other religions, cultures, etc, etc.

But then again human nature will lead to conflict so maybe you are right!

I enjoy this forum and visit often only because the K@k praat is NOT allowed and discouraged. Lets keep it that way.
There are other forums for the k@k and prefer not to visit them.

Also, remember, this forum has an international audience. I am sure lots of these foreign folks could not be bothered with our political k@k. They are most probably capable in generating enough of their own k@k, and don't need ours.
I would prefer an aviation focused forum with minimal politics.

Just read this post and I feel humbled. You are all quite right. Politics should not be included on the forum. As I said on another post, I care and when I care I do something about it.

Just did a quick count of topics on the first page of Hangar Talk and 18 out of 43 topics had zero relation to flying (although I am sure anyone clever enough can bring in a aviation spin on any subject). Hence we can conclude the kak praat is already happening to a large degree some of them even with political subject lines.

Hangar Talk is the name of this section of the forum and to me that means anything that my mates and I would yak about in the hangar, before or after a flight, goes. No?
There are areas for serious Technical talk, Training talk, Accidents and Incidents etc. etc. so where do we talk k@k?
I respect the rules but think we need an area to hear the views of other respected aviators/like minded people on all topics.
So I am with Slysi on this one.
